“October” (3 minutes, 26 seconds) is a film about my longing for the summer sea, or what it represented: warmth, memories, home. Narrated in my mother tongue Mandarin Chinese, the subtitles and voice piece can be experienced as separate entities or as a whole, depending on the languages each audience understands. This work is part of an ongoing project about the limbo space between the cognitive determination to let go and the emotional need to linger; where I place the trivial, repetitive, prickly aches of this shooting star of a world.
